Dear 7th Grade Parent/Guardian,
As part of the New York City College Access for All-Middle School initiative, your child may have an opportunity to visit a college campus to learn more about college culture. We are currently planning a trip for our 7th grade students to visit the Adelphi University Campus on January 16 or 22, 2020. During the trip, students will have an opportunity to tour a campus, learn about various departments, and participate in engaging activities. Tours will begin at 11:00 AM and end around 12:30pm. Lunch (pizza) will be provided when we return back to MS67 (Due to the intersession time, the campus dining area will not be available). The trip is free for our Grade 7 students, however space is limited. The first 96 students to submit this completed consent form will reserve a seat. Due to capacity limits at Adelphi, there will be two separate dates (January 16 or 22). If your child is interested and is one of the first 96 students to submit this form and the NYC DOE Chancellor Trip form (attached), he/she will be assigned to one of the two dates based on scheduling. Students need to also sign the Chancellor Trip form.
Our students and chaperones will be traveling by school bus, leaving school at approximately 10AM and returning to school at approximately 1PM. If you are interested in having your child attend, please submit this form to the main office as soon as possible. Seats will be reserved in the order that permission slips are submitted to the main office. Students will still be held to the standards of the NYC Discipline code while on the trip. Adelphi has requested that all student cell phones be turned off during the campus tour and to leave their book bags home. Students are also expected to dress appropriately.
School staff members will accompany students on each trip. Attendance in school is still mandatory for students not attending the trip. If you have any questions, please contact me.
