“Dear MS 67Q School Community,
We hope you are well. The month of February and this week bring our instructional focus of creating and maintaining a supportive learning for all students even more to our attention. We foster and promote an inclusive environment, and this week we celebrate Respect for All Week. Please see below for our themed days aimed at promoting respect and unity among all members of our school community:
Monday, February 8th: School Spirit Day (Wear our school colors of navy blue and gold to demonstrate the unity within our school community)
Tuesday, February 9th: Acts of Kindness Day (Engage in act(s) of kindness toward others in our school community and at home)
Wednesday, February 10th: Upstander Day (Wear blue to show your support for putting an end to bullying and standing up to those that engage in bullying behaviors)
Thursday, February 11th: Diversity Day (Celebrate what makes you unique and show appreciation for the uniqueness of others- for example, wear the colors and traditional clothing of your heritage and culture).
If students would like to share pictures via email of their participation on one of the themed days, please email your pictures to a member of the Administrative Team, our Parent Coordinator Jenny Cho (firstname.lastname@example.org), or our Dean Michael Viruet (email@example.com).
In addition, we celebrate Black History Month throughout the month of February. We recognize the achievements, accomplishments, and lasting impacts of Black Americans past and present. Connections within units and lessons will be made, and we understand the importance of the unity and inclusion we are promoting within our school community expanding into our current society.
Lunar New Year will be celebrated this Friday, February 12. We join with members of our school community who will be ringing in the Year of the Ox. Also, please note there will be no remote teaching and learning this Friday, February 12.
