Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held at the following times:

  • Thursday, March 12 from 4:30-7:30PM
  • Friday, March 13 from 12:20 – 2:20PM
  • Tuesday, March 17 from 2:25-3:00PM
  • Tuesday, March 24 from 2:25-3:00PM
  • Tuesday, March 31 from 2:25-3:00PM

Child Mind Institute Behavior and Emotional Skills Training (BEST) in March

The Child Mind Institute is offering a FREE one-day parent and caregiver training on Friday, March 6, 2020.  Behavior and Emotional Skills Training (BEST) is open to parents and caregivers of school-aged children, and typically costs $600 per participant.  Lunch is provided.

  • Day: Friday, March 6th, 2020 
  • Time: 9:00am-2:00pm with 30 minutes for lunch.
  • Location: PS 207 Q | 159-15 88th Street Howard Beach, NY 11414 
  • Enrollment: Parents, family members, babysitters, and caregivers of children in grades K-8 are invited to participate in BEST.

March Maker Madness 3/10

New York City Department of Education Community School District 26 and Community District Education Council 26 presents “MARCH MAKER MADNESS” on TUESDAY, March 10 from 6 pM – 7:45 PM.

We invite you to join fellow parents & friends from our neighborhood schools at a Special  “MARCH MAKER MADNESS” Family Event hosted at MS 67.

Families are invited to challenge their building skills at a special Parent & Child Workshop by visiting {4} fun stations for 20 minutes.  A variety of activities awaits:

  • Make a LEGO Bricks for Kidz BasketBall Hoop that shoots & keeps score
  • Create a Springtime Paper Circuit Card
  • Build the Tallest Index Card Tower
  • DeStress with Slime Time

Baseball Tryout Consent Form

If you are interested in trying out, there will be a tryout for all grades on Thursday, March 19th in the yard from 2:30-4pm.

All players need a tryout consent form in order to tryout.  There are no exceptions!

Please come to room 139 or 317 to receive your tryout consent from; or download the form HERE.  All forms are due no later than Tuesday, March 17th.

Queens Parent Advisory Board Meeting 2/25 Topic – Rights of Special Needs Children, IEPs, and Parent Advocacy

Queens Borough President Sharon Lee invites you to her next Parent Advisory Board meeting that will be held on Tuesday February 25, 2020 at 6pm in Room 200 at Queens Borough Hall located at 120-55 Queens Blvd in Kew Gardens.

We will host several guest speakers who will speak on the rights of special needs children and how to navigate the NYC Department of Education if your child has an Individualized Education Program (IEP) and how to better advocate for your child.

Our guest speakers will be Mary Jo Pisacano – Director of Special Education at Queens North Field Support Center at the Department of Education who will talk about the process to obtain an Individualized Education Program (IEP) and the process that follows and resources available for parents.  We will also have Paola Martínez Boone who is the Senior Advocate in the Disability Justice Program at the not-for-profit called New York Lawyers for the Public Interest who will speak about advocacy and IEP’s. We will also have Sherry Algredo who is the Chair of the Education Committee on Community Board 9 who will share her experience as a mother of a special needs child and will give some tips on how parents could better navigate the education system.

Chipotle Fundraiser TODAY!

Join us for a fundraiser to support MS 67 Louis Pasteur. Visit Chipotle at 254-56 Horace Harding Expressway in Little Neck on today, February 12th between 4pm – 8pm. Bring in the flyer HERE or present it on your smartphone and tell the cashier you’re supporting the cause to make sure that 33% of the proceeds will be donated to MS 67.

Valentine’s Day Dance; Test Prep Academy Fair; Navigating High School Admissions Process as a Parent; Carnival-themed Refreshment Sale & Gift Baskets

Dear MS67Q Families:

We hope 2020 is going well for you.  There is a lot happening in February – even with the upcoming winter break.  Here are some highlights of the events coming up!

See you on Monday!

1.  Happening Friday 2/7/2020 right after school – Student Organization’s Valentine’s Day Dance in the school gym.  The PTA will be selling pizza, candies, refreshments, and ice cream.  All parent volunteers are welcome! From 2:00PM-430PM.

2.  A very special event for all families!

The PTA is excited to present to you our very own Test Prep Academy Fair at the school lobby this coming Monday Feb. 10. 2020 from 6:00PM- 7:00PM!  Meet the test prep academies from the area whose business is to help prepare the kids for SHSAT/TACH/SSAT/PSAT/AMC-Math exams. Get all your questions answered and take advantage of their offers and discounts!  (The vendors include Kweller, Top Prep, CEED, Premier, C2Education and many others!)

Then join us at the PTA Meeting from 7:00PM-8:00PM as we host Part 1 of  “How to Navigate Through the High School Admissions Process as a Parent”– our guest speaker will be Ms. Nina Scalici, our Guidance Counselor, who will explain the overall process – what to do in 6th grade, 7th grade, and then 8th grade. 

Raffle drawings for gift certificates to various test prep places will be taking place during the meeting!

3.  PTA’s Chipotle Night Fundraiser will take place Wednesday Feb. 12. 2020 from  4:00PM- 8:00PM at the Chipotle at Little Neck Plaza.  Show THIS flyer at the time of your purchase and portions of the proceeds will be given back to the PTA!

4.  MS67’s Annual Musical “BIG” is coming up Friday Feb 28, 2020 at 6:30 PM and Saturday Feb 29, 2020!  The musicals are always a huge hit with the entire family and we hope you will bring your children and friends to the show.

This year, the PTA will be preparing and selling carnival-themed refreshments, gift baskets, flower bouquets for sale, so come prepared to enjoy this festive event!   Doors will open at 5:00PM so we have plenty of time to enjoy the refreshments.
